Training Players in Various Ball Handling Skills at Their Level
Effective ball handling creates scoring opportunities for players and their teammates. Beginner and experienced players both benefit from enhancing their ball handling skills.
Under Justin’s guidance, players practice handling the ball better and with greater precision. Players are trained in in-and-outs, jab steps, triple threat stance, and those at an advanced skill level learn to master behind-the-back spin moves, hesitation moves, and more.
As players practice dribbling effectively, they become better protectors of the ball and are able to more consistently outmaneuver defenders in one-on-one situations. Players trained by Justin also learn basketball defense training, in which they practice agility ladder drills, defensive slides, and elements of defense to successfully guard opposing players.
Using Ball Handling Drills to Dribble, Pass, and Control the Ball like Pros
Justin incorporates specific ball handling drills, such as the 2-on-1 drill, reaction ball drill, and 4 corners drill, into players’ training routines. The goal is to help players develop proper posture, hand positioning, and finger control. Throughout training, players will practice various dribbling moves such as in-and-out dribbles, hesitation moves, and crossovers. Speed and agility drills, and dribbling exercises further improve coordination. Players also practice improving their weak hand to become better all-round players on the court.
Clutch Basketball Training teaches players to perform in high-pressure scenarios. Players are taught to stay calm and focused and use their ball-handling skills to overcome otherwise effective defensive strategies. Justin trains players to maintain their control and their cool during intense games using "On-the-move" drills to show players how to move swiftly across different zones on the court and break down defensive pressures.
